Javier Rodriguez, Senior Ergonomist and Founder
Javier has a BS in Industrial Studies from San Jose State University and has extensive professional training and experience in OSHA injury management and ergonomics analysis. Prior to founding ergoSOUP, Javier worked for Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, CA for over 26 years--10 years as an industrial engineer and 16 as an ergonomics engineer--successfully managing world class injury prevention programs for its manufacturing and office environments. Javier was honored with an Intel Achievement Award for managing a $17 million dollar project to address ergonomic issues on cross-factory equipment. This resulted in eliminating product loading issues, improved maintenance tasks,
controls, and display locations thus minimizing user interface errors. He designed
and has implemented the proactive wellness ergonomics program: Seeking Out Uncomfortable People (SOUP) to address and eliminate minor discomfort in
the workplace, working closely with on-site physical therapists, nurses, and physicians to
develop and implement successful recovery programs for injured employees. In addition, he's tailored specific ergonomics and safety training models for office, manufacturing, and lab customer groups. Javier has chaired worldwide factory ergonomics teams to achieve world-class safety
performance (injury recordable rates less than 0.5) by using the virtual factory Joint Ergonomics engineering Team (JETS) model. On the safety front, he's provided successful safety and ergonomics oversight for the decommissioning of fab manufacturing sites. This has included site decontamination, transportation preparation, and shipment of complex equipment.
